In 1946 we began providing superb, personalized service to fly fishing anglers and their families as they enjoyed the exclusive use of our secluded, cozy Lodge, rustic well-appointed cottages, and five-star private pools. Each October, shooters would join us in the classic Woodcock and Ruffed Grouse cover of the Miramichi and Cains River valleys.

Lodging & Fishing Waters

The lodging is a fully furnished, meticulously clean, air-conditioned three-bedroom, two-bath, river-side cottage with bedding, telephone, TV, and XM radio included. The modern kitchen includes electric range with oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher, plus all necessary utensils, pots, pans, china, and glassware. There is a dining area, large living room with wood stove, and porch with a spectacular view of the Main Southwest Miramichi River.

Fishing water includes fishing rights for up to two Atlantic salmon anglers for all three salmon pools owned by Vickers' Pools Angling Club, Inc. plus the exclusive use of a leased fast water run located opposite of Washburn's Island on the Main Southwest Miramichi River.

For guests who desire only lodging, our rate per day is $100 for a party of one, $150 for a party of two, and $175 for a party of three.

The daily rate per angler is $250 and includes lodging, the use of our private waters, and the opportunity to fish in Crown Open Water on the Cains River.

Food, food preparation, guides' fees and fishing license fees are not included.

Our newest cottage was completed in 2008. It has three bedrooms, a full basement, two full bathrooms, and a spectacular view of Johnson's Bar and Burke's Bar.

 

Location

Our buildings and Atlantic Salmon pools are located in Howard, New Brunswick, on a half mile stretch of the Main Southwest Miramichi River, one mile below the entrance of the Cains River. The entire section of land and water is owned and operated by Vickers' Pools Ltd. and Vickers' Angling Club. We are 70 miles northeast of Fredericton and thirty-five miles southwest of Miramichi City.

Our three principal holding pools are located in the half mile of water which fronts the Lodge and cottages.

Travel Arrangements

Our Facility is easily accessible by auto. Commercial airports are located in Moncton and Fredericton. The closest access for private air travel is Miramichi City (5000 foot, hard surface runway).

Atlantic Salmon Fishing Pools – Where the Big Ones Are

The fishing waters available to our guests include fishing rights for up to two anglers for three Atlantic salmon pools owned by Vickers’ Pools Angling Club, Inc.  Anglers also enjoy the exclusive use of a fast water run located just above Washburn’s Island on the Main Southwest Miramichi River.  The salmon run fast and furious, they are naturally large, healthy, and willing to put up a fight.  It’s the ideal fishing spot and angling experience for sportsmen and women interested in an outdoor adventure they’ll never forget.

And if you’re staying as our guest in our Miramichi River Salmon Fishing Cottages, you are in for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with every necessary amenity, beautiful views, and an environment that just might provide one of the  most relaxing and enjoyable times of your life.
